The How, When and Why of Forest Farming Users Guide.Each unit begins with a list of the objectives for that unit. These objectives provide an overview of the unit contents. Many of the units integrate video, readings, web links and self assessment tools. The software you will need to view the units contents include RealPlayer, Adobe Acrobat Reader and a current, as of April 2004, version web browser. A high bandwidth connection (Cable or DSL) will be beneficial when viewing the video content.Many of the units incorporate video presentations. Video presentations are represented by the icon which begins this paragraph. All the video used in the HWWFF is in Real media format. In order to view this content you will need the free RealPlayer. If you don't have RealPlayer installed you can download it from real.com . Each unit has a series of readings. Most of these require Adobe Acrobat reader to view. This is available as a free download from the Adobe web site, if you do not have it installed already. Several of the documents on the HWWFF site are Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. There is a free PowerPoint viewer available from Microsoft which will allow you to open these documents Web links are grouped with this icon. These sites have been selected to provide the online information on forest farming which complements the unit contents. Self assessment tools are indicated by this icon.
